Sarah moved with her father Peter Putnam Jr, mother Sally, sister Laura and oldest brother Cyrus to Calhoun county in 1842. There they all lived untill they died. They had at least 2 daughters an Ella and Emma. I believe Emma married a John Colwell, but don't know what became of them.. Do you know of anyone who has an old Dolph Bible?

My great grandfather, William Frank LAZARUS died around 1920, probably in Burlington, Calhoun, Michigan where he was and had been the village blacksmith for several years. I was wondering if there might be any information about his death in the local newspaper or if anyone might be able to look it up for me. He left behind a wife - Malinda Reese Lazarus and 3 or 4 sons - several of whom died in the great flu epidemic. I'm wondering about when and where the funeral took place and any information about him. Thanks. Sheryl Houston, Texas

Hi all - Some new additions have been made to the Calhoun County MIGenWeb site lately. http://www.rootsweb.com/~micalhou I'm very pleased to have received a database of burial records of Albion's Riverside Cemetery from Bob Royston, as well as lists of early Battle Creek mayors and other officials from Marta Norton. Thanks much to both of these volunteers. Feel free to contact me if you have records to contribute that you feel could help your fellow researchers! Many thanks to Bob Royston and Sandy Redmond for making Riverside Cemetery available on line! I look forward to hours of browsing. Her name is Edith Dice (1857-1940) and she is buried in the Burlington Cemetery, Burlington Township, Calhoun County, MIchigan. I have written letters requesting to have the name of the sexton for that cemetery and am unable to get any response. I am trying very hard to find someone who could help me to get a copy of the death certificate, however, no one seems able to help me with it as every where I turn I am told that they have no record of her death. I have been told that there must be a death certificate and proper paper given to the cemetery in order for burial. So I am asking you if there is any information/addresses/ or such that you could help me with in finding out this information. Pennie Watson
I am sorry her name at death was Wealthy Coston .
