    2. I finally found the Calhoun Co. poorhouse cemetery - does anyone know if there is a sexton for the cemetery? Was this cemetery ever indexed? Searching for information on Wealthy Coston who died in the poorhouse Oct. 8, 1901. Would like to find her newspaper obit also. What newspaper would have information on Marengo Twp. deaths? Thanks

    1. Coston death location
    2. I will be in Michigan in a couple of weeks and would like to get a copy of the headstone for my gr gr grandmother, Wealthy A. Coston. I got a copy of her death record and she died an inmate of the county house. Where would they have buried her? Would she have a head stone if the county buried her? Her certificate makes no mention of a cemetery. She died Oct. 8, 1901. Her husband was Collin C. Coston - I have no idea when/where he died. They married 1863 in Barry County. Any chance anyone has a a cemetery listing for Calhoun County or access to a possible obit for her? Thank you.

    3. have you checked at the usgenweb for calhoun to see if the cemeteries that might be there include names... or if there are any links to hisotirical societies that might help... if you have not gone there, i would suggest a trip.... here is how... go to rootsweb.com home page (a good place to always start) then scroll to the usgenwebproject in the middlish column then click on michigan then find the county of interest and click then explore.... each genweb is different supported by people for the LOVE OF IT... and with the information that they have been able to find and make available.... if you havent been to genwebs for any of your research - include WORLDgenwebs, i think you are missing out on some good places to scout... ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, September 01, 2004 8:48 AM Subject: [micalhou] Coston death location I will be in Michigan in a couple of weeks and would like to get a copy of the headstone for my gr gr grandmother, Wealthy A. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RFB.2ACE/1731 Message Board Post: From a newspaper item in the Battle Creek Journal dated Thurs, December 31, 1868, I found the death notice for my 3rd great grandfather, Polydore Hudson. There are no names of his children or his 2nd wife in the article. It does say "that his funeral was attended on the Thursday succeeding his death at the Baptist Meeting House in South Battle Creek when an appropriate sermon was preached by the Rev. S. Wishard of this city." Does anyone know where I could write to find Baptist Church records for 1868?
