Hi all - New additions to the Calhoun site: 1) A link to tombstone photographs of Battle Creek's Mt. Olivet cemetery taken by Robin Ellis. http://www.rootsweb.com/~micalhou/cemetery_pics.htm#Mt. Olivet. These excellent photos are part of the MIGenWeb Tombstone Photo project found at http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/mi/tsphoto/calhoun 2) Civil War regimental histories and rosters from Gardner's History of Calhoun County, Michigan; a narrative account of its historical progress, its people, and its principal interests. A huge thank you to Marta Norton (once again!) who helped gather and input this wonderful information. http://www.rootsweb.com/~micalhou/civil_war.htm 3) See the update to Athens Township's Stimpson Cemetery courtesy of Chris Trevathan. http://www.rootsweb.com/~micalhou/cemetery/stimpson.htm 4) The site has had a "fall cleaning," which involved deleting redundant information by combining pages. The site should have a more logical navigation. Remember to check each of the links on the left-hand navigation bar. Also, you'll find a great deal of information on the page for each individual township (click on the "Townships" button). Finally, remember to try both of the two search engines found on this page. 6) I've added a link to scanned images of seven different histories of Calhoun County from http://www.rootsweb.com/~micalhou/history.htm. This is part of a wonderful collection of images done by Michigan's Council of Library Directors. The collection is projected to provide access to 192 histories dating from 1866 to 1926.
