Hi Marge, I've seen the DeTemple name spelled many ways. I have a John DeTample who married Carrie Macher Nov. 08, 1876. He was the first Chief of Police in Benton Harbor. A son died in infancy. They raised Charles Christ after his parents died. They lived at 257 2nd St. in Benton Harbor. He died July 25, 1920 in Benton Harbor. I have his obituary if your neighbors would like it. Thanks for your help. Hi Diana, We could be talking about the same DeTemple family. I know my neighbor, Jim Lull, said he lived in Benton Harbor for a while. He said he'd drive Dr. Bastar(d)'s horse and carriage when he'd have to make house calls any time of night. Jim is 80 yrs old and full of stories. Does John DeTemple's obit list te Lull name?
