There was a Berrien Co. "jail" in Berrien Springs. There is one in St Joseph city, Berrien Co. now and not in Berrien Springs. There was and still is one in Cassopolis, Cass Co. Most all the County seats have and had a calaboose. As for the really big ones.....near here there is Jackson State Prision, and in Indiana I think Michigan City would be nearest.
