HELLO LIST: I would like to thank everyone that responded to our questions about Jackson state prison's location and about it being enumerated in the 1860 census. >From the info everyone supplied we were able to find it and find the census sheets covering it. For those interested. On the LDS micro film the prison info is at the very beginning of the Jackson County part. Not in Blackman Twp like we thought it should be. There are 16 pages of prisoners. It is in 4th ward, Jackson city, Jackson Co. Enumerated on June 30th. I forgot to check the number of the beginning page, but our info was on page 119. A word of warning, on the LDS film the pages are two per frame. Not one after the other as usual, but side by side, so it is easy to miss every other page. A special thank you to Alice Kern who sent us images of the pages. And told us what pages to look on for what we needed. Robin
