Coloma, Watervliet, and Niles area Clara BENTON (1860-??) married Samuel SHOUP (1850?-??) 03-09-1876 Caroline SHOUP (1881-1917) married George E PARTELLO (This man does not seem to exist! I can't find him anywhere exept on my husband's grandfather's birth record). Elizabeth SHOUP (1884-1968) married John SAVAGE (possibly out west somewhere as she was a Fred Harvey Girl for the railroad) Edna SHOUP (1891-1972) married Harry YOUNG (lived on Niles-Buchanan Road west of Niles) There may have also been a Samuel Shoup Jr (1877-??) and an Addie Shoup (1879-??). I have found birth records for them, but only Addie appears on the 1880 census and is gone by the 1900 census. On a later census, Clara claims to have had a total of seven children with five still living. Clara BENTON then married Philander PIERSON (1857-??) 09-09-1899 in St Joseph Mabel PIERSON (1901-1976) married Fred CLARK (lived on Niles-Buchanan Road) Grace PIERSON (1904-??) married ???
