    3. Sherry Cawley Its me again! When I was in Berrien County a couple of years ago, I found Morton Shepards, (my Great Grandfather), death notice, on this it stated his mothers name was A(unreadable) G. Marble. Mortons father was Stephen R. Shepard. Morton died Nov. 5, 1905, he is buried at Penn Yen Cemetery. Any connection? 2. Benton, Shoup, Pierson, Partello, Savage, Young and Hoff >From info I have gathered (but not fully proven yet)... Clara BENTON, b 08-1860 in New York, married Samuel SHOUP, 03-09-1876. He was born about 1850 in Indiana. They had two children - Samuel b 1877, and Addie b 1879 - I believe they both died young (Samuel Jr is not listed on the 1880 census). If I have the right family, they also had Caroline SHOUP 1881-1917 (m George PARTELLO and John D HOFF), Elizabeth SHOUP 1884-1968 (m John SAVAGE), and Edna SHOUP 1891-1972 (m Harry YOUNG). Clara BENTON then married Philander PIERSON, 09-09-1899. He was born 11-1857 in Michigan. They had two daughters - Mabel PIERSON b 06-14-1901 (m Fred Clark), and Grace PIERSON b 06-14-1904/5. I have proof on some of this info, but haven't definitely tied it all together yet. This is hubby's family and info from them was sketchy. Cathy

    1. [MIBERRIE-L] Feltenberger - VanLiew
    2. I am beginning to think that Alphus Levere Feltenberger and Estella Meb VanLiew are a figment of my imagination. They are the parents of my husband's grandfather Arthur Levere Feltenberger who was born in Bay City, Michigan and they are listed on his birth certificate. In a letter that grandpa wrote to grandma before they were married he said that Estella went to Three Oaks and divorced Alphus as that was where her parents - William VanLiew and Josephine Brooks VanLiew were living. We know that Josephine died in Galien in 1895 and William died in 1914 in Grand Rapids. Both are supposedly buried in Berrien Co. but I can't find out where. Also there is no record of the divorce anywhere and Estella remarried Fred House either in North Dakota or Washington as that is where we tracked her to. What a brick wall. Marcy in California
