The Bay County Historical Society has a "premium plate" with the inscription "Compliments of I.K. Schultz, Bay City, Mich." Could anyone tell me what is a premium plate and what it would have been given for? It looks like a china dinner plate and has a flowered border and a bouquet of flowers in the center. I would be pleased to hear from anyone who might help. Thanks.
