He married a Samantha Barnhardt in 1865 in Bay City, Catholic ceremony. She died before Nov. 9, 1887 when Elijah married Rosie ?. Between two marriages he had nine children. In 1922 only two were still alive, Charles Eugene Herrick and Arthur Herrick. I believe Charles was born Feb. 9, 1868 and Arthur was born on July 20, 1888. I believe that both wifes and all of the children were born in this area. Elijah was born in the Town of Webster, Genesee Co, New York to Moses and Ann Herrick. Eventually Elijah, a civil war veteran lived in a number of Soldiers Homes, mostly in Wisconsin and died on March 5, 1922 at the home of his son Arthur who lived on Ewing Ave., So. Chicago, Ill. This last part is an guess, as that is where his last pension check was sent. I would be interested in anyone else who is connected to these people. Thanks Terri in Wisconsin.
