My Polish ancestors, Ignace SCHULTZ and Apolonia LEWICKA, were married at St.Stanislaus Church in Bay City in 1893. They raised their family there, and some descendents still live there. I am writing a history of the family, and I am looking for any historical books or articles about Bay City or its Polish neighborhood. So far I have found these resources most helpful. Books "The Bay County Story: Memoirs of the County's 125 Years." Leslie E. Arndt. (Linwood, Michigan: L. Arndt, Harlo Printing, 1982). "Michigan Lumbertowns: Lumbermen and Laborers in Saginaw, Bay City, and Muskegon, 1870-1905." Jeremy W. Kilar. (Wayne State Un. Press: Detroit, 1990). Articles "Polanders in Bay City, 1879." Raymond J. Herek. The Eaglet. (Polish Genealogical Society of Michigan: Detroit), Vol. 4, No. 1, 1984. "Catholic Education Comes to the Saginaw Valley." Timothy Pies. Michigan History. (Michigan Dept. of State: Lansing) Vol. 74, No. 1, January 1990. Does anyone know of other valuable books and articles? Please do not send web sites. Thank you for your attention to this request.
