I've been away from the computer for a few days! Yes, Mrs. Horace Killey is actually Emma Brall--and she was the 2nd wife of my great-great-uncle Horace. Horace Killey was born in 1885 to William and Ellen (Lewis) Killey, in Ontario, Canada. An earlier generation of the family was from the Isle of Man and settled in Canada by the 1840s. Horace married a woman named Rose, and they had two children--but I know nothing of them beyond that; they do not appear with him after the 1910 census for Bay County/Michigan. Horace lived in Bay City, Michigan or in Williams Township, Michigan for most of his life--He remarried in 1918 to Emma Brall, born 1887, died 1978. By 1920 Emma "Irene" and Horace Killey live in Midland (census record), and moved from there home there to a different home in Midland by the 1930 census. Horace Killey died in 1934 and is buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, near Auburn, Michigan. His wife, Emma Irene (Brall) Kill! ey, purchased the lot and stone--his is the largest stone there--or at least, the largest among the Killey family. There is a book about Williams Township/Auburn, written by Agness Skelton Schmidt--and in it are some platt maps of the Williams Township area--there are Bralls on the maps. My dad has the book and I recall seeing the name when I searched for my own Killeys. Re: Mrs. English, there are Englishes in the thumb area as well as the Bay County area-but I do not think they are related to my husband's family. His family was from Virginia and did not come to Michigan until about 1930. Sorry I can't help you with that one! I've forwarded the link to your message here to another researcher of the Brall line, and I hope he will post here and contact you. Good luck!
