There is a Saginaw County Genweb site. There also is a Saginaw County mailing list and I think also a message board at rootsweb. I don't do research in Saginaw county, but think those are correct. This site is rather interesting - might be something here you can use. http://bay-journal.com/ 1840 census are few and far between. The only one I have seen is Lapeer county. Not sure about Saginaw.
