I just received my Journal from the Polish Genealogical Society of Michigan, Vol 23 No 3 Fall 2003. (Yes, they are a bit behind, but a very worthwhile journal.) In this Journal, there is an article "Naturalizations in the Federal Court in Bay City, Michigan on 19 March 1895" by Judith Killeen Zack. pg. 13. 392 Polish men, most from the Eighth Ward of Bay City, which was predominately Polish, were made citizens of the United States on that day. In the article she lists all of the 392 men along with the file number which corresponds to the number on the affidavit of witness and oath of allegiance. Here I found my husband's Great-Grandfather: Thomas Gornow (sic. Tomasz Gornowicz). I have written for a copy of the record. If your relative was Polish AND they were in Bay City in 1895, I will check the list for you. Please send the requests directly to me with a subject of "Naturalization: --ancestor's name--" You might consider joining the society, their web site is: _www.pgsm.org_ (http://www.pgsm.org) . Dues are $20/year. They also have back issues available for a reasonable fee. Carolyn Gornowicz jerolyn @ aol.com
