    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: kasemeyer, ziel, stor, reed, falconer, bryant Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/kFB.2ACI/1992.4.1 Message Board Post: Here's what I've got on the Kasemeyer family so far... August Kasemeyer was born July 5, 1817 in Hannover. His parents were Christian Kasemeyer and Charlotte. He came to the U.S. in 1850 from a town called Salzburg bei Coppenbruegge. Salzburg is a very small village located near the town of Coppenbruegge in the southern part of what was until 1866 the kingdom of Hannover. This small village was founded in 1734 by Lutheran refugees from the town of Berchtesgaden, which is today in the southeastern corner of Bavaria, not far from Salzburg, Austria. This was and is a very catholic are, and was located at the time in the bishopric of salzburg. In 1734, the Bishop of Salzburg ordered Berchtesgaden's Lutherans expelled. So they made their way north and near Coppenbruegge they founded a small village which they named Salzburg, after the place they had come from. Elizabeth B Ziel was born May 29, 1831 in Bavaria. Her parents were George Friedrich Ziel and A. B. (Possibly Anna Barbara) Stor. She came to the U.S. in 1853 from Ruppersdorf bei Flachslanden. Ruppersdorf is located in the region of western Bavaria known as Middle Franconia ("Mittelfranken"), and is now a part of the town of Flachslanden, ten miles north of Ansbach. August and Elizabeth were married July 28 1853 in Bay County, Michigan. They resided in Frankenlust township before moving to Monitor township, then Bay City, and some researchers have mentioned a move to canada, which I have found no verification for. Their children were: Margaret Dorothea b. 1854 George Friedrich Leonhard b. 1856 Anna Barbara b. 1858 Johann Leonhard b. 1859 Johann b. 1861 John Heinrich Christian b. 1864 Maria b. 1865 Johann George b. 1867 d. 1868 Johann George b. 1869 Eva Barbara b. 1872 d. 1872 Anna Augusta b. 1872 These dates and names have been verified with church records. These names were their baptismal names, and they may have been known by nicknames or middle names. Their daughter Margaret Dorothea married Johann George Carl Schultheiss. Johann Kasemeyer, b. in 1861 married Sabina Deneke in 1889. They had Oscar b. 1890, Harold b. 1902, and Erich b. 1909. George FL Kasemeyer married Mary Karoline Stadelman Nov 19, 1879 in the "ME" church of West Bay City. If you know what church this is, let me know... I think it could stand for Methodist Episcopalian. Their children were Margaret, Fred, Anna, and Clara. Margaret married William B Reed abt 1901. They had Clarence, and Gerald. Fred was a bachelor, but may have had a daughter. Email me if you want or have any information on this. Anna married a BRYANT, and had a son named Melvin. I have something about a car accident in my notes on Melvin. Clara married William B Falconer. I've probably got more in my notes, so I'll post another message in reply to this one later.
