Amelia was born c 1859, immigrated c 1880, and was married to Charles Kullick. I was able to locate the family on the Federal Census for 1910, 1920, and 1930 in Beaver Twp. My great-grandfather, Frederick Harke, immigrated to Detroit c. 1880. I was once told by an elderly relative that he had a sister Amelia who married a man named Charles Kullick. Before I do much more research on the family I'd like to first confirm whether or not Amelia Kullick's maiden name was Harke. In 1870, in East Saginaw MI, there's a John and Elizabeth Mason, both born in England with a son Francis age 16 and a son John age 13, and 5 other kids, all born in Michigan. It says that the father John is a salt mill contractor. That info ties together Frank in 1880 Bay City MI and also ties in John, working in a salt mill in Bay City MI in 1880. Then, in 1870, in Empire Twsp, Leelanau County MI, there's a Robert Patterson born in PA & Mary Patterson born in Canada, along with a daughter Mary born in Canada age 10. There's also an additional 4 children born in Canada and two born in MI. Sounds like another good match. Good Luck & SISU! Thank you very much for your census information. My mother in law is who told me that the family had been born for 3 generations in Bay Co. However, I have since learned that her information is not correct in other matters, and probably here also. Since Mary Patterson was born in Canada, I suspect that they married there, and maybe his parents were English/Canadians.
