Try the Bay County Genealogical Society. http://www.baymigensociety.org/index.html I looked at the obit that I got from the library and it was stamped Bay County Library System, Bay City Branch, 208 Center Ave., Bay City, MI 48708-5989. Looks like I received it about Feb. 2001. Is that where you sent your request or did you email the library which is what I did. What I'm trying to find out now is where he was buried and if there was an obituary for him. His wife Annie/Anna Conley died on Aug. 10, 1910 and I'd like to find her death data too. Neither Owen nor Annie/Anna are on the St. Patrick's Cemetery website as being buried there, but there is a daughter who is buried there so my bet is that they are also. They were both Catholic. Author: MKusmierz Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.michigan.counties.bay/4528/mb.ashx Message Board Post: 2008 marks the 150th year since James Birney founded Pine Ridge Cemetery. An increased effort is being made this year to improve this historical burials ground of many of Bay City's earliest pioneers. In conjunction with this effort, the group has adopted the abandoned Seamans cemetery which share an ajoining border with Pine Ridge. You can see photo of the progress has been made so far at http://bjmi.us/to/pineridge/pr-news.html Better yet, visit these cemeteries, and while your there do something that will help make a difference. On Memorial Day at noon, there will be a special ceremony besides the verterans honor guard at the Soldiers' Rest in Pine Ridge, thall will include some reading and music. I said to go to Persi when I should have said go to "Books" then "Places". I just put either Bay City, Mi or Bay City or Polk's Bay City in "Place Names" each will get you a different set of results. It asks for State, County, Keywords and Record Type. I don't understand where to put Polk's Bay City, in the search form. I'm searching for Anna FitzHenry and William H. Bestor, who married in Bay City in 1879. I believe he is the same William H. Bestor who served in an Ohio regiment in the CW and applied for a pension in 1892. He died in the Soldiers and Sailors Home in Sandusky, Ohio in 1899. I need to know how long he was in Bay City before he married Anna, and how long he and Anna resided there after their marriage. Also Anna's death date and burial place. No Bestor or Bester is found in a search of St. Patrick's Cemetery. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I don't know if I mentioned that Ann was one of 21 children, with her father having 3 wives, all of whom died. I've found 18 of the 21 children -my husband being from the 2nd family.
