Author: matt4240 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.michigan.counties.bay/4531.1.3.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Thanks Mary for your time. He is a bit of a mystery I know more about his father James than him. Maybe he died in Saginaw and was buried in Bay City. I'll have to take a ride up there someday and try to find him in the cemetery and see what his stone reads. I live in Merrill. MI. I found his name on the Bay Genweb site in the Green Ridge Cemetery index. Would I be able to access the newspappers from 1917 at a library in Bay City? Mary if it is easier please contact me at my email mattnbarbie4240@aol.com. Can you think of any other resources I could use to find him. Thanks a bunch Matt Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: MaryFreel Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.michigan.counties.bay/4531.1.3.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Matt, I tried to find him in the indexes available to me. I did find him mentioned in the 1910 city directory but not after that. He apparently lived with a brother. As I said the indexes are incomplete. I also checked the tombstone transcriptions for Green Ridge and he's not there. I don't have access to the actual cemetery records. If you check the Bay County GenWeb page http://www.mifamilyhistory.org/bay/ you will find an address for the records for Green Ridge (under cemeteries and transcriptions). They might be able to help you further. I'm surprised that the county was unable to give you the date--I know they have some records on the computer. Sorry but don't know exact date of death. The closest thing I have is a email sent to me awhile a go from Bay Co. Records which reads this: All death records are in books - you first look in an index book, then it tells you what book and page the information can be found. Book F, page 65 dated March 9, 1917 Record number 192 Found a William Solonas born 1879 who died in 1917 and is buried in Green Ridge Cemetery. So I'm asuming he died in March. My Grandfather told me he is buried in Bay City at Green Ridge and doesn't know much about him accept for this info that he may have died from heat sroke or exhaustion. Hopefully this is enough info to go on Thank you so much for helping my try to crack this nut. Matt Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [MIBAY] Mason, Chester Frank (1881-1953)
    2. Ancestorhunt
    3. Who are the mother's of Chester's children? I have a mystery! Chester Frank Mason was born in Bay City 8/22/1881 and his son Chester Harold Mason 8/35/1900, dtr Mary Mable 14 Feb 1904 and dtr Ruth c1911. His 1st or 2nd wife was Delia Schvalier, born in Bay City, married Sep 6, 1900.. Her parents were Chas or Charles Schvalier and Anne Alier. Did she die, or were they divorced? In 1900 Chester is living with his parents Frank and Mary Mason. In 1910 he is with with Mal or Malvena. Then in later censuses Chester is with with Belle V. I don't know if Mal and Belle V are the same/ When did he marry Malvena? Were they divorced?. Was their a wife before Delia? Who is Chester Jr's mother? Who is Mary Mable 's mother?. Mary's death record in California does not have her mother's name. Per census records Malvena and Chester were marreid about 1901. Ruth may be adopted, Chester Sr. died in 1953 in St. Clair Co.. All of Chester Sr's children were born in Bay City. Malvena died in 1958. They are both buried in Lakeview. Some immediate family members are still alive, in MI and would like to contact them. If anyone has access to birth and marriage records, I sure would like to straighten out Chester's life. Rosie in California

I would like to extend a gracious thank you to the Bay City PL, who found the obit; a donation is on the way. The original death date I posted, 7 Jul 1930, was off by a few days and fortunately in the right direction. The BCPL searches 7 days after the submitted death date. Good to know!! 3. Correction, the photograph is identified as "William" MCGIBBON, not "James". Shelley -----Original Message----- From: Shelley Cardiel [mailto:cardiels@comcast.net] Sent: Sunday, June 01, 2008 9:37 AM To: 'MIBAY@rootsweb.com' Subject: MCGIBBON Family photograph I've "rescued" an old photograph which is identified as James MCGIBBON which was taken at the Marks Studio in Bay City, Michigan. The photograph was taken in 1895 with James likely in his teens at the time it was taken. I am hoping to locate someone from this MCGIBBON Family, so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of the family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
