John J MCGINTY was my GG Uncle. The rest of the family line is in Ontario, Canada. John also lived here until the late 1890's when he moved to Bay City. John his wife and three children are all buried together at Old St. Patrick's Cemetery. It's nice that they are together forever but also gives the impression of the end of the family line. I'm hoping that the obits will show some offspring. Regards, Richard Orr Toronto, Canada Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hello, A few questions regarding the following family who are buried at Old St. Patricks Cemetery. John J McGinty Sr. 1859 - 1939, Margaret (Burns) McGinty 1874 -1959, children: Mary L (McGinty) Corrington 1902-1983, Margaret E McGinty 1906-1982, John J McGinty Jr 1908-1952. I have all the general info from US census and Polks Directory. Margaret E McGinty was a teacher. Would anyone have any info on where she taught in Bay City and possibly a school photo? Any stories if she was your teacher? Mary L McGinty married a Corrigan. Anyone having marriage details, children's names etc? John J McGinty Jr. - He was a law student at one time. Not sure if he became a lawyer. Distant relatives claimed he worked for Ralston - Purina, but not sure if that's true. Any info on him including if he married and had children etc? John J McGinty Sr - I understand he was a Bay City Alderman late in life. Any Info on the Alderman angle would be appreciated. Your help is most appreciated. Regards, Richard Toronto, Canada

In regards to the new Pilot LDS site for Michigan births, deaths and marriages: http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html# Births: Be aware that not all Michigan births will be found here, only those reported by parents, doctors and midwives to the county clerks between 1867-1902 Deaths: Only deaths that occured betwen 1867-1897, included are only deaths gathered by the county representative who were supposed to canvas their area at the end of each year. It is very incomplete, as some counties did not comply. Marriages:Only marriages from 1868-1925 are included, before that, counties did NOT have to report them to the state. On the other hand, this is a wonderful new pilot site. I have found many new discoveries here....and more records are being added every day! Happy Hunting!
I cannot find my William H. Bestor's 18 June1879 marriage in Bay County to Anna Fitz Henry. It appears that the database is not complete, but hope springs eternal. Thank you for your kind offer! I'm looking for the name of the first husband of a daughter of my great-grandfather. I know her second husband's name, and hope your index shows either her first marriage, or her second marriage with her first married name listed. What I know is: --Lila A. Thorsby, b. 11 Oct 1910 --single as of the 1930 census --married for the second time to Robert Eugene Treece, b. 28 Jan 1914 As far as I know, both marriages were in Bay City. Any dates welcome as well! Thank you for looking.
