I have also found descendents from Anna Andersen (bn 1882) and one of them is alive and well living in South Carolina! Let's hope that this is the connection we were looking for. Carl always wandered in and out of peoples lives and never ever let anyine know where he ws or whae would do next. He just stopped calling anyone around the mid 1920s after delivering some boots to the children of Thomas Andersen in Chicago. What do you think? My home E Mail if you want to get in touch directly is: andya13349@aol.com Let's hope this is it, in memory of your mum! Hope to hear from you soon Maggie Andersen nee Goodwin/Brand ------------------------------------------------------- Hi there, I too, am looking for Carl Anderson (Andersen). He was born, I think, 30 Nov 1884 in Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland, the son of John (Johannes) Andersen (Anderson) and Marie Jensen.John and Marie were both from Haugasund, Rogaland, Norway and moved to Scotland between 1882-1884.The birth date for Carl I have from a World War 1 Draft Paper which put him in Seattle together with his brother Thomas. There were 5 children born to Johannes and Marie, Annetta 1877, Anna 1882, Carl 1884, Georg 1887 & Thomas 1890. Annetta married and moved to The Faroe Islands. Anna married and moved to Tacoma WA, Georg married and stayed in Edinburgh Scotland & Thomas married and lived in Chicago. We know that Carl went to USA because he used to turn up every so often at various relatives homes, stay for a while and then go with no-one knowing where he came from and where he was going. It would be good to solve this mystery! Hope to hear from you soon Regards Maggie Andersen andya13349@aol.com Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I am happy to help where I can. LOTS of Michigan info is on the LDS Pilot website. They are also adding the 1916 Canadian Census supposedly sometime after Dec 3rd. That's only two more days. Supposed to be finished indexing it then. Probably take a couple of days to get it online. Should help a lot of people. If I can help with anything else, please feel free to ask. I'm trying to finalize what I know about my Wilson Family and get it into a book. Didn't think I could get tired of genealogy, but I've been working on the Wilson's since 1989 and it's time to get them finished up. A younger generation genealogist can finish up what I don't have. Glad I could help. >From the info you have given, William Wilson was a brother to Harry. There was a William Wilson in Bay County, Michigan and I thought it might be YOUR William Wilson. Yes, my maiden name is Wilson. IF we are related, from what I can figure, it would be 8 or so generations ago. My Wilson was born aboard ship coming from England (I believe) in 1791 to the USA. He married and had two children in the USA and then moved to Ontario, Canada about 1824 or so and the rest of his 12 kids were born there. Three of his boys moved back to the States and ended up in Michigan, two in Lapeer County and my G-G-grandfather in Sanilac and then Bay County. None of your names match any of my family. The phone number 989-879-6979 is good and is for a N.C. Twork, aka: Nancy Twork. A little more info: if you Google this lady, you find she has a business called D & M Housemoving and the phone number you have 6979 shows as a fax number. It gives another number 989-879-6340 as her phone number. Address is the same as what you have. I looked at Harry Wilson's border crossing from Ontario in Detroit in 1922 and found info about his brother William still in Galt who lived at 25 Beverly Street. There was a Wilson Family who crossed at the same time: William, his wife Helen, and two children. I thought they might be connected, but guess not. Their relative was Jessie Cummings in Kirton, Scotland. Valerie could be a sister-in-law. A sister to Andrew. I didn't search further. I've previously found the 1928 Detroit City Directory online. Can't find the web address for it right now. Maybe someone else can help on that. Good luck in your search. Hope I've helped a little. Thank you for all the info re dates of birth and death etc. The date of birth for Christina is correct as per her birth ceritificate. She was my great aunt sister to Harry WILSON who I knew nothing about until approx 2 years ago and my searching has brought me to Michigan USA. Who is William Wilson that you mention, are you a WILSON also? Do we have a connection here maybe? Yes Harry WILSON, my grandfather, was born 10 Dec 1898 in Aberchirder Banffshire Scotland. Yes he arrived MI Jan 1922 and yes his brother William was in Galt Ontario at the time. By 1930 both brothers lived in Detroit as roomers on Infantry (I have copy of that census. Both unmarried and driving for or working for Ford Motor Co. I have copy obituary for William (Died Oct 24 1973) and copy death certificate for Harry obtained for me by a researcher in Detroit. Harry never married. Re a sister Jessie Cummings - I have not discovered a sister by that name, the only sister I am aware of living in Scotland was Isabella Young nee Wilson as per William's obituary which states a Mrs Isobella Young living in Scotland, no place name given. She married a James Young on Nov 28 Nov 1918 in Aberchider Banffshire Scotland. I am not aware of Christina having a sister called Valerie either, could she have been a sister in law maybe? I would love to be able to make contact with the family of Christina and Andrew Tworck - Twork, assuming of course they did have a family. Someone else gave me a phone number of N C Twork, 719 Oakwood Pinconning MI, 989 879 6979. Is this number still correct for the named person? Would you be able to check it for me, this may be a person I need to speak to.
