    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: MaryFreel Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.michigan.counties.bay/4566.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The library has a room with 4 microfilm reader/printers, a copy machine and quite a large selection of Michigan sources and of course, Bay County resources. The deaths are indexed by the Bay County Genealogical Society from 1930 on and the marriages by groom or bride from 1857 on. I do lookups for RAOGK so am quite familiar with the resources available. The newspapers are microfilm arranged by date. They have a complete set from 1867 of the city directories on microfilm as well as the Sanborn fire maps of the city and several plat maps from the early 1900s. They also have microfilm of the 1884 and 1894 census for Bay County. If your relations might have been from the northern part of Bay County they have the Pinconning Journal indexed for births, deaths, etc. There are printed indexes of the cemeteries in the county--some are online also. There are several books with biographical data on a large number of early settlers and a vertical file with info specific to indus! try, churches, etc. taken from earlier newspapers. I'm sure I've forgotten some things but the librarians are very helpful in showing you the way. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Francois Toussaint Ouellette was born 1 Nov 1966 at Detroit, MI to Patrice Ouellette born 18 Feb 1828 at Windser, Ontario, Canada and Margurette Longton born 1828 at Windser Ontario, Canada. Patrice died 21 Feb 1902 at Bay City, MI.My information is obtained from personal family records Death Certificates and funeral records etc Although I have updated my tree on Ancestry it has not made the change over yet and I suspect the information you have accessed is some copy cat material. If you want to see my tree go to rootsweb.com. It is The Mason and McCurdy Family by demason. Their children were born at Bay City MI. I do not know when the wonderlust set in but I suspect after Emily died. There were four children for Frank and Emily the last being born in 1897. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dee Sager" <dsager@hughes.net> To: <mibay@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, December 29, 2008 1:52 AM Subject: Re: [MIBAY] Obituarty for Emily Ouellette who died in the Bay Cityarea > Hello Dave, > > I'm a little confused on your family. 3. Hello Dave, I'm a little confused on your family. There is a Francis Ouellette b. in MAINE in 1866 who died in NH in 1926. I found a family tree with him on Ancestry.com. No mention of a wife or children. There is also a Francis Ouellette b. 1866 in Michigan on the 1880 census in Bay City, Bay County, Michigan. BOTH of these records show parents as Patrice and Marguerite. I find no mention of an Emily Rivard anywhere I looked. I checked both Ancestry.com and LDS Family search. Do you have more info on her? Perhaps where she was born? Could Emily be a middle name? Where were their children born? How did Walter end up in NH? May I suggest you contact the Bay County court house and request a search for Emily's death between 1889 and 1906. Also a marriage record for about 1884. Working with exact dates would help a lot. SOMETIMES a death certificate has a date of birth or at least tells the exact age at death so you can compute the birth date.
