Unfortunately they don't start listing the county names until 1894 and there was no listing for the Hamptons by then. I DID find them on the 1884 census living in Fraser Township. It lists James, Mary James, Mary in one household and right next to them William and his wife Amelia A. He is listed as having been born in Canada. James in England, his wife in New York, the 2 others in Michigan. Amelia is listed as born in Germany. I can send you the copies if you send your address to sunbeamf@cris.com. Oh, it lists the marriage of William and Amelia as happening in Sept of 1883. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
