She was the daughter of Peter Mondon. This family lived in Williams, Bay Co., MI. The 1930 census has 2 men that I also found on the MI death index, Edmond a son born 1914 and Ernest a brother-in-law born 1896. If anyone knows about this family, I would great appreciate hearing from you.

A Charles Kent, born about 1852, married Betty Suedekum. They had 2 children - Chrales and Elmer. I believe they divorced about 1885. Betty married a John Nugent and Elmer was raised with the Nugent surname. (Charles died as a child). Is there any connection or is this a separate Kent family? Thanks. Joyce

He was adopted by his maternal grandfather, Hiram Florence, after both of his parents died. The family story has been that Cora Florence married a Henry Kent, and they had Sheldon but I can't find any records to confirm or deny this. She would have been about 3 years younger and they both lived in Williams township. I don't believe even my grandfather was completely sure about his parents.

I had been very anxious to exchange information with anyone having information on Catherine and her mother Adrianna Vulders DeKoning Van den Heurk. I bought "Carried Gold in Belts" from Anton Neggers and was fascinated with his detailed work of that line in the Netherlands. On visiting Bay City and searching land records, it was clear that Adrianna was the one bringing money into the marriage. She was the landowner. I also got a copy of her paperwork selling the farm to her daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Prosper Tacey. She did not "cut them a break." Although the family stories indicated that Adrianna always spoke French or Dutch, legal papers drawn up in Missouri state that she speaks English. I'd love to get a copy of the Ida Huijskens article. Please let me know any associated fees and an address if I might be able to have it.

I visited Bay City/Essexville in the summer (2004) and was able to do land records on my Francis and his wife Adrianna Vulders Van den Heurk. Now I know that Catherine "King" DeKonig who married Prosper Tacey (Jr.) was the daughter of Adrianna and her first husband. I have tracked the Francis/Adrianna line of Van den Heurks and have located most of the descendents. Thanks to the generous telephone and e-mail guidance from Cindy Kocsis, Scotty, Cindi Van Hurk, Gene Tacey, Art Jacobs, and Anton Neggers, I have a wealth of information on Adrianna's family. However, none of us have been able to place my Francis Van den Heurk with his correct family in the Netherlands. I'll keep your information so that we can exchange updates if any end up linking them together. The names Francis, William, and John did keep showing up in my line, but I still can't link them to yours. I do think that your group does connect with that of Cindi V! an Hurk's husband.

My grandfather Henry came to this country in 1880 red star line from Belgium/Holland. I believe he came with his brothers William and John, I have however found an older version of John that was possibly already here in this country. My grandmother was Cornelia (VanHurk) Jacobs. Her cousin and best friend was Mable VanHurk who was married to Francis. They are all from Hampton twp. I have found this spelling to sometimes be vanden Hurk, VanDanHurk, vanHurk, Van Hurk, vandenherk. I have some naturalization documents that are Van Hurk. this is a hard family to reserch, I have been working on this for years. Let me know if you think there is a connection. We are interlinked with the Tacey's also, but that could come from the Jacobs linage.

Chabowskis are listed as Habowskis in the 1920 census in Chicago. I am looking for my great grandfather who's name is unknown. His wife's name is listed as Sophia Habowski with children: Walter, Louis, Constance, Clara, Thaddeus(Teddy) and Severin, who is my grandfather. Severin lived in Rochester but I don't known where after the 1930's. Sophia was naturalized in 1888. This is about all I have so anything would really be appreciated. Thanks
