I haven't seen it, don't have the vol. no./date and have only an account supposedly based on it. Two brothers, Eseck (father of Elhanen) and Eddie Phetteplace came with their families from Chenango Co., NY and settled in Branch Co., MI in 1835. Eseck spent some time in Crawford Co., OH where he raised cattle, drove them north from the Ohio River through Ohio and sold them to new settlers in Mich. Eseck stayed 8 yrs. in Branch Co., then moved his family to Otsego, Allegan Co., MI. His wife, Submit Costen, died there 16 Nov 1850. He moved in 1856 to Orangeville where he married a widow, Selena Tuttle Brown.
