FOOTE Services for Fred D. FOOTE, 72, 2478 Star School Road, Hastings, who died Saturday, Feb. 11, at Pennock Hospital were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Riverside Cemetery with Rev. Robert Taylor officiating. The body reposed at the Leonard Osgood Funeral Home. Mr. FOOTE had been ill for several years. He was born in Vermontville on Dec. 29, 1905, the son of Loren and Nellie (CRONK) FOOTE. He came to Hastings with his family as a child and attended area schools. He did auto body repair and carpentry work. Mr. FOOTE married Joyce DUMENEY SWEET on Feb. 7, 1970. He was a former member of the Hastings Moose Lodge and the Assembly of God Church. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; three daughters, Mrs. William (Barbara) GUY of Livonia, Mrs. Duward (Patricia) CAIN of Hastings and Mrs. Judy HARTSON of California; a son, Melvin L. FOOTE with the U.S. Army in Germany; 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild; two step-daughters, Mrs. Richard (Sherrie) SHANECK and Mrs. Donald (Kathy) DULYEA, both of Hastings; two step-sons, Karl SWEET Jr., of Lansing, and Richard SWEET of Vermontville; nine step-grandchildren; three brothers, Floyd FOOTE of Nashville and Jack and Bob FOOTE, both of Hastings, and two sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Ruth) CURTIS and Mrs. Stanley (Lucille) STAUFFER, both of Hastings.
