Born in Wayland, MI to Silas and Pearl (Reinhart) Tanner February 25, 1912. Surviving are her daughter, Lana (Joseph) Langone and their sons, Paul and Joseph "Jay". She was preceded in death by her grandson, Peter Langone, in 1990. On Memorial Day weekend in 1949 she was united in marriage to the late John L. Carruthers. She is also survived by his children, Dolores Pulver, Marcia Walthers and Richard (Mary) Carruthers and their families; and her sister, Vivian Davis. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Winkel Funeral Home Otsego where services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday with Pastor John R. Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Plainwell. Contributions in memory of Geraldine may be made to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission. Published in the Kalamazoo Gazette on 6/1/2005.
