Gun Lake Alice was a friendly and courageous woman, who loved to stay involved with her family and friends. Alice died on Tuesday, December 31, 2002 at the Tendercare Nursing Home of Hastings. Alice was born on February 5, 1944 to Garrett and Nancy "Louise" (Veld) Wilgenhof, in Kalamazoo. She attended Kalamazoo Schools, and graduated in 1962 from Portage Central High School. Alice worked at the former Kresges store, as a clerk, for a short time before her marriage to Earl Snyder in 1964. He survives. Alice was a member of the Plainwell BMX Club, the Johnson Lagoon Neighborhood Association, and the Gun Lake Snowmobile Club. She is also survived by sisters, Judy L. (Robert) Golladay of Paw Paw, Linda J. (Ernest) Fitzgerald of Union City, Sandy K. (Ronald) Knoll of Gun Lake, Debby A. Pollard and Patty Jo Carman, both of Kalamazoo; a brother, Gary M. Wilgenhof of Vicksburg; several nieces and nephews and a special nephew, Ronnie Knoll. Her parents, a son, Christopher C. in 1988, and a so! n, Bryan D. in 1995, preceded Alice in death.
