Knowlton - age 67, Wall Lake, Delton, passed away Saturday (Dec 25, 1976) morning at Pennock Hospital, Hastings, where he had been a patient since October 22nd (1976). Mr. Knowlton was born December 25, 1909 in Grand Rapids, son of Julius and Marjorie O'Brien Knowlton. He was a 50 year Scouter; he is a charter member of the Delton Lions club, a member of the Delton V.F.W. and the Hickory Corners American Legion Post; a member of St. Ambrose Church of Delton. He taught and retired as Elementary Principal from the Delton-Kellogg Schools in 1973, where he had been employed for ten years. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Air Force and was a P.O.W. in Germany. He was married to Maxine Henton, who survives. Also surviving: three sons, Michael Knowlton of Muskegon, Jerry Knowlton of Boston and Timothy Knowlton of Stanton, Mich.; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Gardner (Eleanor) Richmond of Kalamazoo, Mrs. Fred (Betty) Sherman of Grand ! Rapids. Friends are being received by the family from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening at the Williams Funeral Home, Delton. A memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be held Tuesday morning at 10 a.;m. at St. Ambrose Church in Delton with Msgr. Charles Keating officiating. Mr. Knowlton requested that his body be willed to medical science.
