RUMSEY - Nashville, age 83, formerly of Union City, died Oct. 6, 1995, at the Tender Care Nursing Home, Hastings. He was born Jan. 17, 1912, in Bronson, a son of George A. and Ida (MYERS) RUMSEY. On May 1, 1933, he married Isobell SPRING, in Bronson. He was a lifelong Bronson area resident and had lived and farmed on Arbogast Road, Union City, from 1949-90. He moved to Nashville in 190 to be near his son, Wayne. In addition to farming, he was a logger and was engaged in construction work. He enjoyed hunting and racing and showing ponies. Surviving are his wife; three sons, Wayne A. RUMSEY, Nashville, Windelle A. RUMSEY, Jr., Claremore, Okla. and Richard D. RUMSEY, Lansing; 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Verline GOSS, Coldwater. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Verle, Vernice and Clarence RUMSEY; two sisters, Veva VAN ETTA and Verva JASPER; and one granddaughter, Vicky Lynn RUMSEY. Relatives and friends may call from ! 2-8 p.m. today at the Putnam Funeral Home, Union City, where services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Richard E. Johns will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Union City. Memorials may be directed to the family.
