DURKEE - 11137 Grove St., Delton, MI, age 67, passed away March 11, 1998 at Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo. He was born April 29, 1930 in Delton, MI, the son of Gordie and Vina (WILLISON) DURKEE. He worked in early years with Tungate Excavating of Delton, and Checker Motors of Kalamazoo. He was employed many years with Smith & Doster Farm Implement of Delton, and several years with Peabody Oil of Delton. He loved to drive his car and travel the surrounding area, and was given, by his good friend, Bill Smith, the C.B. "Handle" - The Roadrunner!" On June 23, 1960 he married Margaret "Marge" MYLES, who preceded him in death November 7, 1996. He was also preceded in death by his parents. surviving are many cousins; and 2 sisters-in-law, Palma CARTWRIGHT of Kalamazoo, and Dorothy POND of Vicksburg. There wil be no visitation as cremation has taken place at his request. A graveside memorial service is pending. Burial E. HIckory corners Cemetery.
