In the 1930 obituary of (Adolphus) Delos Hopkins of North Michigan Ave, Hastings, he was the son of Massana & Julia Barton Hopkins. Delos was a Civil War veteran having enlisted at age 18 from Hastings in M Co., 11th Cav Regt. Delos was survived by wife Harriet (Nodine), sons: William Hopkins of Grand Rapids, David J Hopkins of Marcellus, Leon Hopkins of Lansing; daughter: Daisy M Manning of Battle Creek; brothers: James W Hopkins of Hastings, Elra M Hopkins of Battle Creek.
