My great grandfather, Guy Lynn Warner, was born in Hastings, Barry Co, MI in 1893, and died in 1968. A pedigree chart with him as root is offered below: http://www.askgar.com/cgi-bin/igmped.cgi/n=Warner?I21 I am trying to connect to my missing branches of the family tree from there. The Fuller County Cemetery in Hastings: http://www.interment.net/data/us/mi/barry/fuller/fuller.htm had several useful tidbits of information for me, including: the graves of Guy's grandparents: Warner, Elmira, b. 08-20-1825, d. 07-25-1894, wife of Jasper Warner, Jasper, b. 1824, d. 1918 the graves of Elmira's parents: Fuller, Harmon, 05-10-1875 Fuller, Polly, 02-24-1872, 68y 9m 2d, wife of Harmon the graves of Polly's parents: Barnum, Zebulon, b. 11-28-1848, 74y 11m 17d Barnum, Betsy, 83y 4m 25d, wife of Zebulon and also POSSIBLY Jasper's cousins . . . I'm tracking his grandmother Esther SENTER, possibly of NH, and was very excited to see some SENTER family laying around with this gang: Senter, Thomas, b. 04-13-1817, d. 03-13-1899 Senter, Fidelia, b. 07-25-1824, d. 09-06-1899, wife of Thomas (Does anyone have SENTER Family from Branch County, Michigan??? Possibly married to WARNERs?) On the OTHER side of the tree, I am very excited and very confused by some information from the 1870 census of Michigan, now available online at: http://envoy.libraryofmichigan.org/1870_census/ Which lists: http://epiphyte.libofmich.lib.mi.us/CensusImages/Roll661/81.pdf Carlton, Barry Co, MI, June 16, 1870 Post Office = Hastings Connet, Isaac, aged 36, male, Carpenter, born New York Fidelia, aged 22, keeps house, Michigan Ellisa 5 Fred 3, (I hadn't found him before because the census index says "CONNER" instead of Connet. The wild card search on the new 1870 website helped me find him anyway.) My problem with this last bit of information is that it totally doesn't match at all the information that I had listed, which came from an admittedly rather poorly documented third source (a CRAFTS family surname book) -- Fidelia's mother was Sophia Crafts of Prattsburgh New York, who died in Battle Creek, MI: The Crafts Surname book has it as: Isaac C. Connett -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sex: M Born: MAY 27, 1836 in Genessee Co, NY Died: NOV 7, 1911 in Grand Rapids, MI Father: Orson Connett Family 1: Phidelia Perry, b. AUG 19, 1846 Married: OCT 1863 in Sherwood, Branch Co, MI Children: Orson F. "Fred"Connett, b. NOV 20, 1866 Eliza Viola "Violet"Connett, b. MAY 10, 1872 in Carlton, Barry Co, MI Myrtie M. Connett, b. AUG 16, 1875 Eurettie Connett, b. MAR 12, 1877 Stephen Connett, b. APR 15, 1879 ---------------------------- I am working on the theory that the census record showing an Isaac Connet with wife Fidelia is correct, but that gives me some pretty strange ages at marriage by today's standards. *IF* the marriage record is correct, *AND* if the census ages are correct, then Phidelia was 15 and Isaac 29 when they were married. (Phidelia "Ph" was used in the Crafts surname book as opposed to Fidelia "F" used on the census record). The age for Fred matches (census taken June 16, 1870, he was born Nov 20, 1866, so he would have been 3, turning 4 5 months later). But I had no record of Ellisa born in 1864. "MY" Eliza, was born 1872, so I suppose it could be a child died young and the first child post-census took the same name . . . ???? I'm just glad to see they really existed! This census record was the first "proof" I had of that! But I could sure use some help documenting the dates! I am told that "MY" Eliza was really "Eliza Viola" but went by the name of "Violet". ---------------------------------- I *THINK* I found my Philander PERRY on the 1870 Census: http://epiphyte.libofmich.lib.mi.us/CensusImages/Roll692/163R.pdf Pine Town Ship Montcalm County Michigan Aug 3, 1870, Greenville Post office Philander Perry, aged 57, male, Day Laborer, New York Adeline Perry, aged 20, female, Keeping house, New York (But again I have date problems. For this to be the right people, again, the CRAFTS surname book would be wrong. . . It lists Philander as being born in 1813 -- which is a match -- but says his daughter was "Adelum" rather than "Adeline" and lists her being born earlier -- she should be 26 instead of 20 in 1870. Unless this is perhaps a daughter-in-law with a similar age????)
