He had attended Richland High School and graduated from the Delton Kellogg Adult Education program in 1991, and had worked at Georgia Pacific for 22 years. Jerry loved the outdoors and outdoor activities and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing with his boys. On July 3, 1964 he married Judy ENGLAND. In addition to his wife Judy his family includes 3 sons and a daughter-in-law, John and Lisa BURCHETT of Plainwell, Jeffery and James BURCHETT, both at home; 2 grandsons, Jacob and Nicholas BURCHETT; 2 sisters and a brother, Sally CONOLLY and Larry BURCHETT, both of Kalamazoo, Mary BURCHETT of Minnesota; several nieces and nephews. Jerry died Monday, March 9, 1998 in Plainwell, and was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence BURCHETT and Erma BURCHETT SANDLIN. Friends may call at the Rupert, Durham, Marshall and Gren Funeral Home, Plain! well chapel 6-8 PM today and Wednesday where a Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday 1:30 PM, Rev. Donald H. DeYoung speaking. Burial will follow in the Yankee Springs Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.
