Rackley, of the Orangeville/Plainwell area, died Monday morning March 12, 2001. Mr. Rackley was born May 9, 1938 in Rome, Georgia, the son of William and Fannie (Pinyan) Rackley. Following the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Army. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life and was employed with General Motors for 26 years, retiring in 1992. He also was an avid antique buyer in Allegan, Plainwell and surrounding areas. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Raymond Rackley. He is survived by five children, Becky (Keith) Blank of Kalamazoo, Cindy (John Blocker) Bourdo of Delton, Bill (Rebecca) Rackley of Kalamazoo, David (Amy) Rackley of Delton, and Rhonda Rackley of Orangeville; 21 grandchildren; two sisters, Betty (Norman) Witt of Signal Mt., TN and Martha (Fred) Davis of Portage; a brother, William Edward Rackley of Kalamazoo; a sister-in-law, Lil Rackley of Plainwell; several aunts and uncles; several nieces and nephews incl! uding Robert C. Holland of Ypsilanti, MI; and several cousins. Services were held Thursday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel. Pastor Randy Burnett of the 12th Street Baptist Church officiated. Interment was in Orangeville Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Michigan Heart Fund or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were made by Langeland Family Funeral Homes of Kalamazoo.
