Bird, age 69, of Freeport, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 15, 2005 at the home of her daughter, Cindy Mead. Mrs. Bird was born on August 6, 1935 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Richard and Virginia Vendeville. She was raised in Kalamazoo and graduated from Kalamazoo schools. She was married to Richard L. Bird on July 16, 1954 in Prairieville. Donna attended Middleville Wesleyan Church. She was a homemaker, devoted housewife and mother, and avid reader, she enjoyed fishing, and had a love for hummingbirds. Donna loved spending time with her grandchildren and camping every summer with them. Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, John, Jim and Bud; and son, Ricky. She is survived by her caring, loving husband of 50 years, Richard L. Bird; two daughters, Linda (Wesley) Milligan of South Carolina, Cindy (Rick) Mead of Freeport; four grandchildren, Rich (Lauren) Burtts, Matthew, Jimmy, and Lynsey Mead; one great granddaughter, Rebekah Burtts; on! e brother, Donald Vendeville and one sister, Virginia Britten, both of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at the Middleville Wesleyan Church. Pastor Mark Patchet officiating. Interment German Cemetery, Eckert Rd., Middleville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Middleville Wesleyan church. Arrangements by Beeler Funeral Home Middleville.
