BYINGTON - Beloved husband and father died December 24, 1996. Mike was born in Kalamazoo on December 3, 1914, the son of Eugene and Rose ADAMS BYINGTON. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army in the Second Armour (sic) Division in the European Theater. Mike was a graduate of St. Augustine High School. He owned the Friendly Tavern in Kalamazoo, Delton Insurance Agency, the Byington House Tavern in Delton, Delton Realty and Byington Realtors. He was a State of Michigan Right-of-Way-Buyer. He was a charter member of the Delton Lyons (sic) Club and the Delton area Chamber of Commerce. He was an officer of the Delton V.F.W. Post 422, one of the founders of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Delton. He was active with fund raisers for community services. He loved horses and enjoyed the Boy Scouts, 4-H, traveling, fishing; but most of all, he loved his tractor second to his wife Millie. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Gertrude SAGE, D! orothy DE LOOF, Eugenia KEELAN, Elona MC WETHY; and a brother, Jack, who died in the service. Mike is survived by his wife, Millie, whom he married August 31, 1940; three children and their spouses, Joan and Dwight LAMPHIER of Delton, Aileen and Patrick DELEHANTY of Hudson, Florida and Michigan BYINGTON of Delton; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to Father Bart Hall at St. Mary’s Church for fellowship and refreshments at 10 a.m. Saturday. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Saturday at 11 a.m., Father Lawrence Kroll celebrant. Burial of cremains will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the auspices of V.F.W. Post 422. After the interment of cremains, friends are invited to a luncheon at the V.F.W. Post 422 in Delton. For a more lasting memorial, donations may be made to Delton District Library, Mo! osehaven, or the V.F.W. Post 422 in Delton.
