Thanks, Vicki ([email protected]) for posting the story of Henry Barnum's death. In the Barry County death records, it is interesting that his cause of death is listed as "killed by cars." Henry's middle initial has been shown in census records as J. I'm not sure whether J or L is actually correct. He was a son of Isaac Barnum and Roxanna Philly. Isaac was a son of Abel Barnum and Anna Peet. Abel was one of the early landowners of Barry County, purchasing 146.84 acres in sec. 31 in May of 1837.
