Zenus “Ed” Finnegan - 4185 South Shore Drive, Long Lake, Cloverdale, passed away suddenly early Saturday June 18, 1977 at his home. Lt. Col. Finnegan was born May 12, 1907 in Trenton, New Jersey and had lived at Long Lake, Cloverdale the past 4 years and was formerly of Grand Rapids. He retired from the U.S. Army in December of 1954 after 28 years of service and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. After his retirement he served for 15 years as the Director of Housing for the City of Grand Rapids retiring in 1972. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Ret-ired Officers Association. He was married to Billie Thiemer, September 6, 1931 in Perth Amboy, N.J. Surviving besides his wife is one daughter, Mrs. William F. (Patricia) Smith of Delton; one son, James E. Finnegan of Southfield, Mich.; 7 grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Friends are being re-ceived at the Williams Funeral Home in Delton where services will be h! eld Monday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Harold Hoppe offici-ating. Interment in East Hickory Corners Cemetery. Graveside services will be under the auspices of the Simmones-Williams American Legion Post of Hickory Corners.
