Ellis - Hickory Corners, age 75, passed away Friday (Nov 26, 1971) evening at Veterans Hospital, Ann Arbor, after a long illness. He was born April 26, 1896, son of Pleasant and Perlina Asby Ellis. He had lived for the past 12 years near Hickory Corners and was formerly of the Gull Lake area. He was a painting and decorating contractor for many years and was a veteran of World War I. He was a past master of the Richland Masonic Lodge and a life member of both the V.F.W. No. 8715 Battle Creek and the Hickory Corners American Legion Post. He was married to Marie LaForge, June 14, 1922, who survives. Surviving besides his wife is one daughter, Mrs. Fernado (Mary Linna) Lazica of Argentina; one son, Bruce Ellis of Hickory Corners; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two brothers, Glen Ellis of Richland and P. N. Ellis of Matoon, Illinois. Private services will be held Monday. Arrangements by the Williams Funeral Home Delton.
