Delton Passed away September 5, 2002. Mr. Thompson was born in Allegan, MI on July 6, 1932, the son of Oscar and Donna Mae (Armstrong) Thompson. He was a retiree of Georgia Pacific with over 42 years of service. Lloyd enjoyed fishing, baseball, and golf. He especially enjoyed taking in and helping raise three grandchildren and his favorite niece, Lorraine Ferris. He is survived by his wife, Shirley J. (Jones) Thompson whom he married on December 27, 1955 in Richland; a daughter, Joann M. Boze of Delton; sons, Robert "Pete" Thompson of Delton, Thomas (Trish) Thompson of Centreville, and John Henry (Angie) Thompson of Battle Creek; brothers, Ernie (Leila) Thompson and George Thompson, both of Allegan; sisters, Virginia Lindsey of Kalamazoo, Marlene Craven of Parchment and Mary Lou Trimm of Allegan; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Lloyd was preceded in death by daughters, Jean Ann and Debra Ann Thompson; his parents and step-mother, Goldie T! hompson; a sister, Violet Hale; step-brothers, Edward and Frank Roberts; and step-sisters, Helen Cooper, Clara Largent, Frances Fleeman and Hazel Anderson. The family will receive visitors today (Sunday) 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the WILLIAMS-GORES FUNERAL HOME Delton where funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 9, 2002, 1:00pm, Pastor Gerald Gallaway, and Mr. Russ Finch, officiating. Interment Cedar Creek Cemetery. Memorial contributions to American Diabetes Association will be appreciated. Published in the Kalamazoo Gazette from 9/6/2002 - 9/8/2002.
