Gainder - Hickory Corners, age 87, passed away Thursday at the Birch Manor Nursing Home, Kalamazoo, where she had been a patient for the past 3-1/2 years. Mrs. Gainder was born Feb. 18, 1889, in Plainwell, daughter of David and Esther Huff McMartin and had lived all her married life in the Hickory Corners area. She was a very active member in the Wesleyan Church of Hickory Corners. She was married to Alfred Gainder, Nov. 12, 1913, who preceded her in death Sept. 4, 1967. Surviving are 2 sons, Douglas of Hickory Corners and Dale of Kalamazoo; 7 grandchldren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. R. L. (Katherine) Fetterhoff of Jackson. Friends are being received at the Williams Funeral Home, Delton, until 11 a.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Wesleyan Church of Hickory Corners, Rev. David Vardaman officiating. Interment in East Hickory Corners Cemetery.
