He is buried in the Riverside Cemetery in Hastings. I believe that his father is a gggrandfather of mine. I have not been able to prove a definite link however. The actual placement of the cemetery is in the Castleton Twp portion. Nashville is also on the Barry County side of the county lines between Barry and Eaton Counties.

He remained with his grandparents in 1920. I suspect his parents were Azel R Mix (b.Aug 1883- d.Sep 2 1908) married Aug 10 1905 to Helen M Surine (nothing known other than an Emmett & Frances L (Gilson) Surine family lived next door to the Mix family in 1900 MI, Eaton Co., Vermontville Twp. and a 2 year old Azel W Mix was living with his Surine grandparents in 1910). Azel, Joseph and Belle Mix are buried at Lakeview Cemetery, but I didn't find Helen M listed in cemetery or death records. Perhaps she is in Eaton Co.? Anne

On August 28, 1942 she married Joseph F. Kovacevich, and he preceded her in death on June 11, 1990. She was a retiree of Montgomery Wards and enjoyed crafts, playing cards, going to the casinos and playing bingo. She loved flowers and gardening and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Joseph, Newton, John and Frank; sisters, Camille, Tessie and Kay.
