Surnames: BAKER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/QFB.2ACE/1692.3.1 Message Board Post: Anne-- Much thanks again. You keep filling in more bits n pieces, I sure do appreciate it. I find Lafayette A. married twice he is a music teacher and business owner in Lansing. He dies between 1910/1912. Brother Dr. Lewis R. Baker dies in Black River Fall, WI in 1912. He is buried in Humbolt Co. ,Iowa where he successfully ran for office. The baby of the family, Frank K. Baker, I believe belongs to wife #2 Ann E. He spends most of his life back in Palo, Ronald Twp., Ionia Co., Michigan, where his brother Lewis R. is born. Frank K. later retires to Seville Twp, Gratiot Co., Michigan where he dies in 1927. My guess Mary E. aka Marrion L. may have died earlier than the rest. Not sure if she ever married. As for sister Jennie A., I knew she was alive in 1912 when mentioned in her brother, Lewis' Wisconsin obit, but there was no married last name, just that the rest of the family was out of state. Now to hunt for Alpheus aka AEFAHEUS . Thanks sooooo much for the random act of genealogical kindness. Barry for Washington, the apple state.

I found Lewis R. Baker's father, Alpheus W. Baker and second wife Anne E. in the 1870 census of Ovid, Clinton Co., Michigan. It appears that Alpheus may have been part of the 7th day Baptist movement and an ancestor may have founded Andover college and Alfred Station, NY. Still working on the connection. I do not have access to the 1850 census of York Twp., Washtenaw Co., Michigan. So I assume that you found Alpheus W. Baker's mother, Joanna born about 1786, Connecticut in the household? Also I assume that Lora M. was the wife in the 1850 household. If so, that is a breakthrough to me. I belived that their had to have been a first wife, but you helped me break through a wall. Well, back on the hunt. Thank you for all your help and tips. Kind regards. Barry C. K. Moravek, Past President Isaac Cummings Family Association
