Knowlton - age 67, Wall Lake, Delton, passed away Saturday (Dec 25, 1976) morning at Pennock Hospital, Hastings, where he had been a patient since October 22nd (1976). Mr. Knowlton was born December 25, 1909 in Grand Rapids, son of Julius and Marjorie O'Brien Knowlton. He was a 50 year Scouter; he is a charter member of the Delton Lions club, a member of the Delton V.F.W. and the Hickory Corners American Legion Post; a member of St. Ambrose Church of Delton. He taught and retired as Elementary Principal from the Delton-Kellogg Schools in 1973, where he had been employed for ten years. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Air Force and was a P.O.W. in Germany. He was married to Maxine Henton, who survives. Also surviving: three sons, Michael Knowlton of Muskegon, Jerry Knowlton of Boston and Timothy Knowlton of Stanton, Mich.; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Gardner (Eleanor) Richmond of Kalamazoo, Mrs. Fred (Betty) Sherman of Grand ! Rapids. Friends are being received by the family from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening at the Williams Funeral Home, Delton. A memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be held Tuesday morning at 10 a.;m. at St. Ambrose Church in Delton with Msgr. Charles Keating officiating. Alice was born on February 5, 1944 to Garrett and Nancy "Louise" (Veld) Wilgenhof, in Kalamazoo. She attended Kalamazoo Schools, and graduated in 1962 from Portage Central High School. Alice worked at the former Kresges store, as a clerk, for a short time before her marriage to Earl Snyder in 1964. He survives. Alice was a member of the Plainwell BMX Club, the Johnson Lagoon Neighborhood Association, and the Gun Lake Snowmobile Club. She is also survived by sisters, Judy L. (Robert) Golladay of Paw Paw, Linda J. (Ernest) Fitzgerald of Union City, Sandy K. (Ronald) Knoll of Gun Lake, Debby A. Pollard and Patty Jo Carman, both of Kalamazoo; a brother, Gary M. Wilgenhof of Vicksburg; several nieces and nephews and a special nephew, Ronnie Knoll. Her parents, a son, Christopher C. in 1988, and a so! n, Bryan D. in 1995, preceded Alice in death. I am looking for information on the Bryans families that lived in Barry County. William and Margaret Bryans and their son, James, William, Alexander, Robert and daughter Rose. Daughter Margaret "Delia" was born 1870 after census. She married a Thomas McCollough in 1887 in Grand Rapids. Do not know what happened to Andrew or Emily or anything about the McCollough line. William died at age 13 and is buried in Woodland Cemetary. Any help greatly appreciated.

He is survived by his parents, Hilby and Reggie Medendorp of Hastings; his brother, Brian (Sharon) Medendorp of Middleville; grandfather, Richard (Marge) Hines; also many aunts, uncles and cousins; his special friend, Tazzie Mae, his rottweiler. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Friday at First Presbyterian Church of Hastings (231 S. Broadway) with Pastor Nelson Lumm officiating. Interment 2:00 PM Friday at Hasting Twp. Cemetery. Delton Passed away November 18, 2002 at his residence. Mr. DeFields was born in Niles, Michigan on June 16, 1920, the son of Alex and Violet (Randal) DeFields. On September 5, 1942, he married Emagene Norman, who preceded him in death on March 24, 1993. Mr. DeFields was a trailer mechanic and loyal employee of Alvan Trucking for many years, retiring in 1977; and he was a former member of the Teamsters. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he was a life member of the Hickory Corners American Legion, a former member of the Eagles, and very active in the Kalamazoo Company C veteran's group. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed hunting and gardening, especially growing his own grapes and making concord grape wine. Constantly puttering, he enjoyed traveling, dancing, and cooking, and was famous for his pies; especially rhubarb and raspberry pies, the rhubarb and raspberries coming from his own garden. He will be remembered for his love of his family and providing for his extended family. ! He is survived by his daughters, Sharon (Bill) Poole of Floral City, FL, Violet (Dick) Tolles of Delton, and Kathy (Marv) Hayward of Plainwell; sons, Raymond (Janet) Penn of Portage, and Arthur (Dee) DeFields of Delton; special friend, Kathleen Johnson of Delton and their dog "Lady"; ten grandchildren; 19 great-grand-children; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emagene; and his sisters, Isabelle and Jeannie. According to his wishes cremation has taken place.
