You're right about the Herron Road reference. And the Dafoe Post office would have moved to various farm houses, where the current Postmaster of sorts would have lived. But Dafoe was now basically where Herron Michigan is now. My father, Harlo Herron, lived with his parents on Herron Road (Fred and Myra Herron) and that farm is still there. It is across from the Catholic Church there. The area's name was changed to "Herron" when Fred Herron donated some of his farm land to the 'city' and they built 2 small city buildings there. The buildings still stand, although deteriorated severely. I understand they are thinking of renovating them. Fred did have that farm in the late 1800's, but my father born in 1898) did receive mail at the Dafoe address, even up to 1916. There is no evidence of an actual 'Dafoe' now.
