However, I do find them on at least 3 census rolls , which will give you a start if this is new info to you. Could not find on 1880 or 1900 census( I honestly quit looking as my eyes were crossing- perhaps someone else will pick up the trail), although there is a similar name in Detroit, but no match with family names. Having had my share of "fun" with my own Bohemian surname misspellings and variations, I imagine your surname has seen many "incarnations". Best I can read. Hope it helps. As we all know, dates and places can vary with census, depending on who gave information etc. I wouldn't rule out a Missouri connection, since it was given twice as Martin's birth place. Unfortunately WW1 card didn't list his birth place. Would also not be surprised if Martin's father is a Frank, given that is middle name. Have fun with it and good luck with the hunt.
