In searching my Portwine geneology last month, I was contacted by a person who is related to the McDonalds of Alpena. My grandfather, Henry Portwine, married Mary McDonald daughter of Angus McDonald. They resided in Alpelna, and raised eleven children. Mary Mcdonald Portwine died in 1915, so I know nothing of her or her family. I would appreciate any information that any of your family may have on her and her parents. Henry Portwine was the township supervisor for several terms in wilson township, and had several farms. All of Henry and Mary children have passed away now, so any information is important.
