Dear List, I'm new to the list, posting my interests in a Robert MATHEWS (born @1815/6 Ireland) and his wife Hester HUNT (b 1822). Family history tells me that they emigrated to Alpena from Bentinck twp, Grey Co, Ontario to live with or near their son Robert. They would have emigrated just after 1881. There are no death records for Robert Sr or his wife Hester in Ontario. Robert Jr emigrated @1876, lived briefly on State St in Alpena, later moved to Hillman, and finally settled in Detroit @1905. Would anyone else on the list be connected to this Mathews family, or have suggestions for finding a burial place or obituary for Robert Sr and Hester?
