    3. I am trying to find any possible link to my grandmother's family. Jeannette Vivian Klemmer was born in Berlin, Ontario around 1880. She and her sisters, May? "Edith" Klemmer Samuels and Ethel "Irene" Klemmer Ulman and sold Alpena property in 1907 to a David Mulvena. It appears that they received this property upon the death of their mother which took place in Detroit. Irene's signature was notarized by an Alpena notary. Jeanette's and Edith's signatures were notarized by a Wayne County notary. "Irene's" death certificate says that she was born in Alpena on 30 Apr 1890. I will be checking the 1900 census as unfortunately the 1890 is non-existant, but there is a chance that they were in Detroit by that time. Father: Charles Klemmer Mother: Elizabeth Habermehl. Elizabeth's death certificate, (information supplied by "Irene") states that she was born in Canada on 24 Dec, 1849 and that she was 46 at time of death. As you can see, these don't add up. It also states that she had 5 children, so I am assuming that 2 died quite young. My mother remembers visiting some relatives in Alpena in the mid 30's and has a picture of the "Gehrke Club" in Alcona County. She remembers that it was a hunting club and that the Gehrkes were relatives, but has no clue as to the relationship. She thinks that Mrs. Gehrke was a teacher and there is an 85 year old man in the picture...she is quite positive about his age. There was a split in the family and my grandmother never talked about her sister, Irene, in fact, she never really talked about her family at all. As you can see, I am grasping at straws. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you Connie Dugger
