My copy of the obituary is not dated but is from the last week of November, 1987. "The Rev. Clive Dickens officiates at a memorial service for Margaret E. Lees at 3 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church. Miss Lees died at home Sunday (Nov. 22) following an extended illness. She was 84. Margaret E. Lees was born in Hancock June 20, 1903, and moved from Houghton to Alpena in 1939. She taught school for 42 years, retiring from Alpena High School in 1967. Honored as 'Woman of the Year' by the Alpena Zonta Club in 1984, Miss Lees was a member of the First United Methodist Church and its women's club, the Alpena Civic League, Alpena Garden Club, the women's Temperance Union, and Delta Kappa Gamma. Surviving is her sister, Edith Leeson of Alpena. Arrangements were handled by Wachterhauser Funeral Home. Memorials: First United Methodist Church or Hospice of Alpena
